A little bit about the Company...

NI Transport & Training came around a bit by accident! Managing Director Rowan Vernon worked more than 15 years previous, as a transport manager for a business with a modest fleet of vehicles and trailers.

Taking that experience and then working for 8 years in the enforcement of regulations gave Rowan a unique insight into both sides of the fence – with the enforcement of non-compliance of the goods vehicle operator licensing regulations, EU drivers hours regulations and construction and use regulations versus the challenges and hurdles experienced by the operator.

Having initially agreed to help a family business in difficulty out as an External Transport Manager, this quickly increased through referral and word of mouth to 4 operators engaging Rowan as an External Transport Manager.

Seeing a clear absence of reputable companies in this space, Rowan went off and gained, education and training qualifications, auditing qualifications and negotiated exclusive supplier status for reputable industry products and software services in the tachograph, remote downloading, telematics and training space.

In October 2021, NI Transport & Training was incorporated and now the company employ 3 full time staff at our office in Larne with plans to add additional training, marketing and administrative staff between 2023-2025.

We are Northern Ireland’s No1 provider for all services related to the operation of goods and passenger carrying vehicles.

We provide transport management, consultancy, compliance management, tachograph services, compliance auditing, driver and transport management training, vehicle telematics, operator licensing and public inquiry support to now hundreds of operators across Northern Ireland industries, including councils, public sector organisations, charities, general haulage companies, construction firms, passenger carrying businesses and specialist contractors.

Our Mission

Our goals and missions are simple. The transportation of goods and people is one of the most heavily regulated industries in the country.

We recognise that these regulations are necessary to promote road safety and fair competition and we are passionate about respecting the regulations and keeping the transport industry safe for everyone.

Every staff member here has young children, using the roads to and from school and during play. We do not support rogue operators, fatigued drivers or unroadworthy vehicles and strive to help the industry operate safely and fairly.
